Ginger Molasses Cookies
I’ve made these cookies for the last 5 years now, they have become a family favourite. Soft and chewy, spiced cookies that taste like the holidays.
What You’ll Need:
2 1/4 Cups Flour
2 Teaspoons Ground Ginger
1 Teaspoon Baking Soda
1 Teaspoon Cinnamon
1/2 Teaspoon Ground Cloves
1/4 Teaspoon Salt
3/4 Cup Butter (softened)
1 Cup Sugar
1 Egg
1 Tablespoon Orange Juice
1/4 Cup Molasses
1/4 Cup Sugar
The How To:
- In a medium bowl sift together dry ingredients including, flour, ginger, baking soda, cinnamon, cloves, and salt. Set aside.
- In a separate bowl cream butter and 1 cup sugar together. Add in egg and beat until fully incorporated.
- Add in orange juice and molasses until combined. In small batches add in the dry ingredients mix until just combined.
- Refrigerate for 2-3 hours.
- Pre heat oven to 350°. Remove dough from the fridge and scoop around 2 tablespoon sized balls. Roll the dough in the 1/4 cup sugar, fully coating it. Place onto a lined baking tray and flatten down a bit.
- Bake for 9-11 minutes. Remove from oven and set on a wire rack to cool.
